"Let It Be" is a song written by Lennon & McCartney (although thought to be the sole work of Paul McCartney). The song was first recorded by The Beatles and released as a single in March 1970 and later the same year as the title track of their acclaimed album Let It Be.

The great Alfredo Kraus gives a lesson in gorgeous, controlled tenor singing, as he sings this difficult and exposed aria from Bizet's Pearlfishers in the original key, with high B's and a high C near it's conclusion!

Here's a clip of Soft Machine on French Television from 1970. This is my favourite incarnation of the band. Robert Wyatt, Elton Dean, Hugh Hopper, & Mike Ratledge...a few months before Robert left to form Matching Mole. Excellent group interplay and Wyatt at his best on vocals. Elton died last month, so this clip is dedicated to his memory.
